Housing Navigator Program Specialists
Establish a working relationship with local Housing Authorities, housing developers, and property owners in order to expand housing opportunities for people with disabilities, in accordance to the Promoting Independence Initiative and the Money Follows the Person program.
Contact your local Housing Navigator Program if you are a Housing Authority, housing developer, or a property owner who may be interested in expanding integrated, accessible and affordable housing for people with disabilities.
Community members can help advocate for necessary changes in regional housing policies, practices, and procedures in order to help expand housing opportunities and housing support programs for people with disabilities.
A Housing Navigator can also provide information about existing support programs such as:
- Promoting Independence Initiative
- Money Follows the Person
- Community Development Block Grant
- Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program
